Book Giveaways
In thanks for your support, paid subscribers and those whose submissions are selected for posting are entered into monthly drawings for autographed books.
What are the Book Giveaways?
At the end of each month, we will have a drawing for an autographed copy of a book written by outstanding authors and poets. In the first week of the month, we will announce the Book Giveaway, including a short description of the book, the author’s bio, links for ordering the book, and the date of the drawing and the winner of the previous Book Giveaway.
The winners are picked randomly, notified by email, and announced here.

Who is eligible for the Book Giveaways?
The Book Giveaways are our way of saying thank you to paid subscribers and those whose submissions are selected for posting on Building Bridges Word by Word.
Paid Subscribers. This is a reader-supported publication, powered by volunteers. Your support helps to keep us going!
Those whose submissions are selected for posting. Our mission is to provide a safe space where we can read each other’s stories, discover what we may have in common and learn from those who have different perspectives. We want as many people as possible to add their voices and perspectives to Building Bridges. To encourage participation, all those who have their submission selected for posting are given a byline for their post and are eligible for the Book Giveaways.
Why are all our Substack posts free and available to all?
Building Bridges Word by Word is all about gathering and sharing YOUR stories so that we can discover what we may have in common. The more people who read each story, the more chances there are for increased understanding and bridge building. So we keep all of our posts free and available to all - there are no paywalls here.
To ensure that everyone can participate, we do not charge for editing or posting your reflections. We lightly edit for clarity and length (there is a 250-word limit), working closely with you to make sure your voice, perspective, and story comes through. You have the final approval before we post your story.
If the posts are free - why subscribe?
By subscribing, you’ll receive 2-3 poignant stories and thoughtful blog posts in your email inbox each week. Sending these to you directly, helps us increase the number of people reading and submitting stories - the whole point of our project!

In return, we ask that you share our Substack publication and the Building Bridges Word by Word website with your networks and mail an autographed copy of your book to the winner of the drawing.
